Clown Fun @ Miss Shannon's!

Max has the best daycare in town. I hate using the word daycare because it is more family than anything! They take such great care of my sweet boy! Miss Shannon brought in Jo-Jo the clown today Miss Whitney was kind enough to Facebook me this photo of my little "cowboy" and Jo-Jo the clown! They make the summer SO fun for the kids there! I was told that he was shy at first but eventually warmed up. :)

Thankful that Max is able to come with me to work yet thankful that he is able to go and play and interact with his friends 2 days a week!

Thank-you Miss Shannon and Miss Whitney for making memories with my sweet boy!
Max & I Love you BOTH!

Dad's Day...

Below are Max's gifts to his Dad for Daddy's Day this year.

This year I had people ask me...

"How are you able to do this?"

or

" WOW! You amaze me, I couldn't and wouldn't do this if I was in your shoes".

My response...(see below pictures)

#1.

I'm able to by God's grace. I didn't do this for him (though it was for him) I did this for our sweet son. If you saw the joy and excitement on his face as we were doing these together and when it was done how proud he was, and if you saw him as we drove to his Dad's house so he could spend the day with him and give him his present, YOU could an d would have been able to do the same thing. Doing anything less would be punishing our sweet boy not his dad. This is NOT this little boys fault. He has been dealt some crappy circumstances but I do not want those circumstances to define who he will become. I do not like that he will grow up in two seperate homes. I think it STINKS! I think the choices and decisions another has made STINK. But I will not be the person that STINKS in our sons eyes.

I WILL do right by our little boy!

#2.
It shouldn't amaze anyone. You COULD do this too. You just have to look beyond their fault(s) (no matter how big) and see their need. God does that with us so we should do that for others. Doesn't make what they did okay. Doesn't make it easier, doesn't mean we are all "okay now", doesn't mean that the choices they made are any easier to swollow, doesn't mean that your heart is "all better". It simply means putting my hurt and broken heart aside and doing what is right even as my heart is aching.

I understand where these people were coming from I really do. I do not think bad of them because they asked. What they really meant I'm sure is that while the gifts weren't big it was the heart that was behind it. It was coming from a place of how could you do what you did for someone who has hurt you so deeply.

God is good ALL the time and I REFUSE to see it any different, you will not be able to prove to me otherwise. He doesn't ask me to understand He just asks me to trust Him. I'm working on it. I'm not perfect never claimed to have been but by God's grace I will make it through the next 14 years of our sweet boys life with my head held high and teach our sweet son what it means to turn the other cheek again and again. Not by my words but by my actions. We all know actions speak louder than words. The saying goes "Your walk talks and your talk talks but your walk talks louder than your talk talks". I want my walk to talk louder than my talk! I will teach him to do right even when what is right isn't popular or easy. To take the high road. It is less raveled but the rewards will be great.

Lets wrap it up this way. Just think of the end, when they turn 18. Think of what you want them to think and know of YOU. I just have to ask myself that question when I'm struggling with a situation and I am snapped back into "I CAN do this".

With GOD all things are possible!

RUN DON'T WALK!

Big Boy Bed!

God totally spoiled Mommy and Max with this bed. He was so close to growing out of his toddler bed and so I had been looking for a new bed for Bubby. Well I liked the idea of a loft bed as a "Practical Mommy" for the additional storage space underneath and as "Fun Mommy" for a fort. I found a couple online (which Max saw over my shoulder and said he NEEDED IT!) but everything started at $500+. To say this Mommy was crushed would have been an understatement. Every night after he saw it when I would put him to bed he would look at me and say I'm to big for this bed. I need a "unk (bunk) bed". Realizing full well that the bed we both wanted was just a "little" out of my price range I talkd to Papa and he was going to build one. I happened to jump on Craigs List about a month ago and this bed was on there. I called but nobody called me back. I assumed it was already sold. WELL, this last Friday, I jumped on again to "browse" and it was back. I was SO excited! I called and they called me back and only wanted $150 for it because they were PCS'ing out and needed to get rid of it. ON top of that because this last weekend was so busy for me (they wanted it gone this weekend) that if I paid them $10 for gas the would deliver it! As if that was enough my parents had a twin matteress in the attic! My God is SO very good to me! I'm thankful that He finds joy in giving this Mommy the desires of her heart for her sweet boy! Max and I thank God everyday for spoiling us with his new bed.

Max LOVES LOVES LOVES did I say LOVES his new bed! He couldn't be more excited to go to bed at night now and loves the slide and the ladder! Oh and because most of you are Mommy's that look at this blog...The twin comforter was on clearance @ Target, the sheets (which colors match perfectly with the theme already in his room) were at Marshalls, the red rug I already had, the BIG yellow one I got at Khols which was originally $50 (I know EEKK!!!) was 1/2 off. I had two $10.00 Khols cash and walked out spending under $6 for the rug. Then I just folded his toddler quilt at the end for the added color which allowed me to keep my costs down :)

Thankful for this oppurtunity to remind Max how God not just takes care of us with our everyday needs, but loves to bless us with the "extras".

A good learning and teaching experiance for this Mommy and Son!

GOD is SO very good to us! He isn't good because I say He is...He is good because He is God!

Oh and one more thing...When talking to this couple when they came to drop it off, I was telling her about the bed we saw online and the "fort fabric" underneath. She looks at me and says I set that out to bring with me and forgot it. If you want to come and pick it up you can have it. SERIOUSLY!?!?! THANK-YOU LORD!

I am SO excited and it could not have come at a better time! SO looking forward to having new pics of me and my best boy!

Waiting for his family.....

Max was waiting for his family to show up for his Papa's party and he used these fancy things to keep a good look out! :)

Max is now F-O-U-R!

I'm WAY behind on Max's birthday post but it has been crazy around my house lately!

He turned for on the 4th. His GOLDEN birthday! He had a great day! This is the first year he truely understood what the word "BIRTHDAY" meant. He understood gifts this year too! He still asks for things for his birthday! He is so sweet! He is loved by many and so many showered him with love on his special day. Thankful for those who love my sweet boy as much as his Mama does. It is hard to believe that F-O-U-R years have gone by since I gave birth to my little pink oops I mean blue ;) bundle of joy. I think back about our little surprise and thankful for it. God sure knew I needed this little boy! Trying to picture my life with a Haleigh is a little odd I must say. Here is a brief look into our day.

We unfortuantly had to go to work on his birthday because Gramma had a family member pass aways so she and Papa had to go to the funeral but that is okay. We still had a good day. We played, then he went to lunch with his Daddy then he got to play with his cousins for a couple of hours then we had his "McQueen" party with his family aka as his best friends. I LOVE that his love for family is just like his Mama's. He cherishs them and loves them beyond words!

My sleeping angel before waking up on his birthday!
Proud that it is FINALLY his birthday (he had been asking for weeks!)

Me and my sweet boy on his day. Not the best but it was the best of the bunch :)

Standing tall and proud on his day!

Hiding from his PAPA as his Papa was hunting for the birthday boy!

Showing me how old he is :)

It took him awhile to get that 4th figure to stay up but I love it just they way it is!

Mama decorated the office for his special day!

Hiding from Mama

He was a little tired of pictures
In a fit of giggles and laughter. He really does have the best giggle/laugh!

Proud of himself that he put his new puzzle together all by himself! He sure does love puzzles!
Looks like he is singing but really he is just screaming that he is FOUR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! His Cake and no he again for the 4th year in a row has not had a bite of his own cake. When asked we got a polite "No thank-you Mommy". Mcqueen, Mater, the number 4 (he loves looking for that number everywhere and then yells Mama I'm four too!) and orange frosting his FAVORITE COLOR!

Getting ready to sing!

His requested meal Pizza and breadsticks which really meant just breadsticks!Sweet Mason enjoying his dinner. This boy is growing up WAY to fast for his Auntie!

Playing with his new toys the next morning!

He is STILL a blankie boy and I LOVE IT!
